Report to University Senate from Library Ad Hoc Committee Nora Allred 11/7/2018
Members Nora Allred, Library (chair) Carlos Amador, Humanities Anne Beffel, VPA Robert Hutchinson, SBE 11/7/2018
Rationale In Proposal 22-17 “Revisions to the Bylaws”, approved by the University Senate April 19, 2017, the “Library” was removed from the list of Academic Departments, appearing solely under Professional Staff Units as required by the Senate Constitution. As a result library senators can no longer vote on academic issues before the Senate. Because the librarians and archivists serve more academic roles, consideration of a potential change in Senate Bylaws, Constitution, or voting privileges for library senators is recommended. 11/7/2018
