Kinematics

Big Ideas in Kinematics Motion involves a change in the position of an object over time. Motion can be described using mathematical relationships. Many technologies that apply concepts related to kinematics have societal and environmental implications.

How does a radar gun work, and what does it tell us about the motion of a vehicle? How are accelerometers used in video game consoles? How can accelerometers be used to monitor the safety and stability of buildings and machinery? How can environmentalists use GPS tracking information to protect endangered species?

Kinematics: Concepts: The where and when of physics. Speed, velocity, acceleration Position, distance, displacement Time
