CHECKLIST Before Registration All students entering for the 2019 HKDSE are bona fide S6 students in the school year 2018/2019 School Examination Officer (SEO)/School Principal have their own login ID and password ready. Download and read the ‘Guides to Schools for Preparing Entries - September Registration’ Read carefully: ‘Instructions to Applicants’ and ‘User Manual for the HKDSE Examination Registration System’ Read ‘Supplementary Information for Schools Using WebSAMS’ for the steps of preparing their candidates’ entry data in the WebSAMS and transmitting the data files via CDS

Special Arrangements for 2019 Exam Fee Waiver Upon the School Principal’s endorsement, SEOs may print the demand notes and distribute them to individual candidates for record purposes School candidates do not have to pay the exam fees nor apply to the Government for the payment of exam fees by themselves. The administrative procedures will be handled by their schools, the HKEAA and the Education Bureau (EDB) Students who pass the means test of the Student Finance Office (SFO) of the Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency need not apply for Exam Fee Remission (EFR) for the 2019 HKDSE The fee remission status of all eligible school candidates’ has been set as ‘full’. Upon the school principal’s endorsement, the payment status will be changed to ‘Paid’   10

Workflow of Special Arrangements by Schools Schools should follow the 3 steps and return the duly signed and stamped confirmation letter, together with a hardcopy of verified ‘Fee Statement Report (September Registration)’, to the EDB on or before 15 October 2018 Upon checking by the EDB, the Government will settle the exam fees for eligible school candidates with the HKEAA 12

September Registration On or before 8 October 2018 All completed registration entries should be submitted by the SEO to the School Principal for endorsement The School Principal should endorse the entries and submit them to the HKEAA on or before 8 October 2018 10 - 12 October 2018 Schools will receive a confirmation letter (Letter Template) and a PDF file entitled 'Fee Statement Report (September Registration)' (Report Sample) from the School Information Management (SIM) Online Service (SIM>View>Notice) between 10 and 12 October 2018 15 October 2018 Schools are requested to verify the information (including the total no. of candidates and the no. of subjects entered) on the 'Fee Statement Report (September Registration)' If you find any discrepancies, please inform the HKEAA immediately by calling 3628 8860 or by email to dse@hkeaa.edu.hk If the information on the report is correct, the School Principal should sign the confirmation letter and send the duly signed and stamped confirmation letter together with the verified hardcopy of the 'Fee Statement Report (September Registration)' by registered mail or by hand directly to the EDB on or before 15 October 2018 (Address: Room 403, 4/F, Cityplaza 3, 14 Taikoo Wan Road, Hong Kong Attn.: CEO(HKEAA) Office Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30 am - 6:00 pm, closed during lunch hour 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm) for further processing Please do not send the above-mentioned documents to the HKEAA

Important Points to Note Important Notes 2019 HKDSE for (1) Registration for ApL subjects S4/S5 repeaters entering for ‘ApL subjects only’ as school candidates are not required to seek special approval from the HKEAA or submit supporting documents Endorsement will be made by the school principal upon confirmation with the course provider(s) via clicking the related declaration in the Registration System before the submission of entries  APPROVED

Registration for ApL subjects Registration for Category B ApL subjects [including S4/S5 repeaters (if any)] must be made via the Registration System within the registration period Pay attention to the name of the ApL subjects as some of the subject names are very similar Otherwise, the candidates’ results of Category B subjects will not be shown on their 2019 HKDSE results notice and certificate (if applicable) nor be carried forward to the 2020 HKDSE and beyond EXAMPLE 1 EXAMPLE 2 B662 Applied Psychology (應用心理學) B691 Practical Psychology (實用心理學) B611 Hospitality Services in Practice (酒店服務營運) B615 Hotel Operations  (酒店營運)

Attention (2) Super-late applications for entry and subject amendment Applications will normally not be accepted after 14 December 2018. Requests made thereafter will be exceptionally considered by the Secretary General on a case-by-case basis Any super-late requests for changes will not be accepted after a date promulgated by the HKEAA on the Handbook for Candidates

In addition, the HKEAA will not provide faxed copies of question papers to wrong-centre or wrong-version candidates No special arrangements will be made on the spot for a candidate who has registered for a wrong paper/module or who has gone to a wrong exam centre The candidate will need to work on the version of the question papers available at the centre. However, the answers can be written in the language the candidate has registered for or intended to register for If the candidate chooses to move to a suitable centre before he/she read the question papers, no extra time will be given for the time lost during the move

Late Entry / Subject Amendment Application for Late Entry / Change of subject entry information after the completion of registration is subject to the approval of the HKEAA and payment of supplementary fee (Note: the subject fees (if applicable) will be paid by the Government): Supplementary Fees: Late Entry: $398 per candidate Addition or Substitution of subjects: HK$258 per application (irrespective of the number of subjects)

Substitution of a subject Replacement of a subject by another one Change of language version Replacement of a paper/module in a subject by another one within the same subject e.g. adding/deleting Mathematics Extended Part M1/M2, changing M1 to M2 or vice versa, changing subject combination of Combined Science, etc. Replacement of a physical activity by another one (for Physical Education) *Applications for amendment to the physical activities of Physical Education Paper 3 (Practical Exam) will not be accepted after 30 November 2018 Replacement of a musical instrument by another one (for Music) on or before 14 December 2018 Application for paper exemption for Music or vice versa on or before 15 January 2019

Application Procedures Application method  Online Application Hardcopies of entry forms Exception: Candidates who would like to apply for amendments to the supplementary information of Music e.g. change to another musical instrument in Paper 4B, etc. are required to apply at the HKEAA Southorn Centre office (The amendment cannot be completed by the SEO via the Registration System)

Workflow of Special Arrangements by Schools Schools should follow the 3 steps and return the duly signed and stamped confirmation letter, together with a hardcopy of verified ‘Fee Statement Report (September Registration)’, to the EDB on or before 13 December 2018 [***Applicable to schools that have submitted applications for subject amendments or late entries for their candidates between 16 and 30 November 2018 only] Upon checking by the EDB, the Government will settle the exam fees for eligible school candidates with the HKEAA 22

The School Principal should endorse the entries and submit them to the HKEAA on or before 30 November 2018. 10 – 11 December 2018 Schools will receive a confirmation letter (Letter Template) and the updated 'Fee Statement Report (September Registration)' (Report Sample), which shows the supplementary fees and exam fees (if applicable) for the application(s) for subject amendment/late entry, from the School Information Management (SIM) Online Service (SIM>View>Notice) between 10 and 11 December 2018. 13 December Schools are requested to verify the information (including the total no. of candidates and the no. of subjects entered) on the updated 'Fee Statement Report (September Registration)‘. If you find any discrepancies, please inform the HKEAA immediately by calling 3628 8860 or by email to dse@hkeaa.edu.hk.
