Activity done in silence Privilege Walk Purpose Activity done in silence If uncomfortable with any statement, remain where you are This is an introspective exercise to help you understand how privilege affects your life. Privilege Walk: Purpose: to better understand the intricacies of privilege and to explore ways that we enjoy privileges based on being members of social identity groups. It is not meant to make anyone feel guilty or ashamed of his/her privilege or lack of privilege, but to highlight the fact that everyone has SOME privilege. By illuminating our privileges as individuals, we can recognize ways that we can use our privileges individually and collectively to work for social justice. The purpose is not to blame anyone for having more power or privilege, but to have an opportunity to identify both obstacles and benefits experiences in our life.

Competency 4 Considers the effect and impact of discrimination and oppression on practice within and among vulnerable cultural groups. Cycle of Prejudice Process isn’t linear/ steps can overlap

Sense of Belonging How can you foster a sense of belonging in your clinic? Why does it matter? Sense of Belonging worksheet
