Presentation transcript:

Science Planner 3/3/17 WALT: sketch visible characteristics of the Grand Canyon. WU: As a group put the Nankoweap rocks in order from upper layer to lowest layer on your desk top. CW: Complete sketch’s and correlation of the rocks and layers of the Grand Canyon.

Vocabulary: CaCO3 – Calcium Carbonate (Limestone) formed under water and are the group of rocks that fizzed. (Samples 4, 5, 9, and 10) CO2 – Carbon Dioxide the gas that is given off by the rocks that reacted with the acid. Sandstone – Rock that is formed when sand particles are cemented together. (Samples 6 and 8) Shale – Smooth textured, formed from consolidated mud or clay. (Sample 7)
