National Human Services Interoperability Architecture (NHSIA) NHSIA is an architectural and planning framework to assist human services organizations plan, design, and implement integrated systems. August 10, 2016

National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) NIEM is a cross-governmental program that supports a broad community of Partners seeking to define repeatable, standardized data exchange formats and protocols.  Human services, health, justice, transportation, homeland security, and many others are a part of the NIEM community. Tools & Technical Support Streamline TA services available to state and local implementers to support ACF interoperability goals. Identify or produce a small series of issue briefs with guidance for state and local human service organizations on priority topics, such as system access control, identity resolution, or document management. Produce an updated (or addendum to the) ACF Confidentiality Toolkit to reflect recent advancements and new targets. August 10, 2016

Partnerships Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Public Assistant Reporting Information System (PARIS) Supports state public assistance agencies to match data with the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). ACF is supporting the Department of Labor in the development of an Integrated Data Systems/Technology Solutions Technical Assistance Center to engage states in data integration strategies that support integrated service delivery, and performance accountability processes. State Eligibility Systems State Integration Survey. Collaboration with ASPE/APHSA/MEF Associates to survey states to learn more about states efforts and current state of their systems as it relates to program/data integration. APD Review. Engage in pro-active review of state APD’s to promote maximum state utilization of the A-87 waiver. Health & Human Services Integration Collaboration Website (zONE). Developed by CMS/ACF/FNS as to support state efforts to integrate health and human services systems.  August 10, 2016

Interoperability Budget Request: ACF FY17 budget request includes $261 million over five years for interoperability, including:  Establishing a Statewide Human Services Data System grant program, to provide funding and related technical assistance to states in support of the design, development, and implementation of statewide integrated longitudinal data systems and related analytic tools. This effort is complemented by the creation of a Systems Innovation Center that would design and build IT elements to be shared with states and tribes in support of integrated health and human services eligibility and enrollment systems. August 10, 2016
