Study Groups & Workshop Partnering to optimize STANAG 6001 test development Faculty development courses at PLTCE Working effectively with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) Blending general and specific proficiency content at different levels I would like to thank all SG/WS participants and especially those who volunteered as leaders. SG 1. Partnering to optimize STANAG 6001 test development: Discuss how nations might be able to collaborate or pool resources on different test development phases & Formulate recommendations on how to forge such partnerships to attain the mentioned goals # 2 - Faculty Development Courses at PLTCE ? Participants will: Identify those topics of greatest interest/value to teachers & Make course design and content recommendations. 3; Working effectively with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) Participants will: Discuss the importance of SMEs and how SMEs can contribute to the success of an operational language course & Describe ways/provide guidelines to optimize the working relationship with SMEs 4. Blending general and specific proficiency content at different levels Participants will: Discuss challenges inherent to this type of training & Define pointers/methods on how to best integrate the two types of content in order to satisfy the course objectives. # 5 –WS-Teaching Translation and Interpretation as Specific Language Skills Participants will: Exchange experience and best practises in the field of teaching translation and interpreting. Discuss methods and techniques used to help translators/interpreters develop professional level skills (both for general or specific military purposes) Workshop: Teaching translation and interpretation as specific skills
