Assessment and Treatment of Dysphagia in Japan Hawaii Speech-Language-Hearing Association Presents: Assessment and Treatment of Dysphagia in Japan This course will focus on assessment and treatment strategies for adults with dysphagia in Japan. It will cover cultural differences in incidence of aspiration pneumonia, indication for dysphagia therapy, and preferences for oral intake in Japan. A multidisciplinary team approach to management of dysphagia will be highlighted. Assessment tools and therapeutic techniques will be described including use of technology and modified food items.
