You may also want to include why keeping kids safe is a priority in your community (opportunity to highlight what is important to target policymaker). Highlight unique program strengths: 2-3 short paragraphs describing: Personal story about a child or family impacted by the afterschool program—did the child(ren) learn how to make better decisions, gain more confidence, etc. Examples of activities offered by the program that helps kids develop soft skills (like critical thinking or connections to positive role models) that helps keep them safe Examples of activities that help kids stay safe in the after school hours by keeping busy and learning valuable skills Examples of how your program helped improve a positive school community that helped to lessen bullying Finish strong: Make the case for how programs help kids and families in this community and statewide.
