Safety, Diet, Medical Issues Watch “Know the Risks” Video (not required for 6th graders) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K25IgZvgoCA Athletes should maintain a proper diet and stay hydrated (60 ounces of water per day) Let coaches know of any medical issues that your child has.

Hazing and Bullying Hazing or bullying will not be tolerated. Report any infractions to one of the coaches on the track & field coaching staff.

Multi-sport Athletes We are willing to work with other coaches but we encourage everyone to be at track and field practice when possible and get their workouts in on their own when not possible. However, the meets should take priority over other practices.

Unexcused Absences from Practice and Events at Meets 2 unexcused absences mean that the athlete will not compete at next meet. 3 unexcused absences mean that the athlete will be removed from the team. A similar policy applies for athletes that skip events at a meet (coach’s discretion). We encourage all of our athletes to compete in at least 3 events per meet (exceptions can be made for some of the throwers and long distance runners). If your son/daughter quits track please let us know and get track uniform (7th & 8th grade) turned in as soon as possible.

Transportation To and From Meets For all “in-town” meets (including Mandan): Bus transportation will be provided to the meet if the meet starts before 4:45 pm on a school day. If the meet is on a Saturday or starts after 4:30 pm on a school day, parents are responsible for transporting their kids to the meet. Parents are responsible for picking kids up from all “in town” meets (Can’t leave until after 3:20 pm on school days).

Transportation cont. For all “out-of-town” meets, bus transportation will be provided to and from the meet. All athletes must ride the bus with their teammates to the “out-of-town” meets. If you want your son/daughter to ride home with you from an “out-of-town” meet fill out the travel waiver from the Horizon Track & Field website and turn it into the coach: https://century- ar.rschooltoday.com/sites/century- ar.rschooltoday.com/files/upload/BPS%20Travel% 20Waiver%20Permit.pdf
