Singapore is part of South East Asia Singapore is part of South East Asia. Singapore have lots of extreme temperatures which affects the animals in the Rainforest. Singapore is very famous for their food and their animals, sport, car racing, great apartments, shopping, theme parks, airports, hotels, buildings, and much more. I hope you learn a lot from my presentation that I am sharing with you.

Singapore is very close to the equator and so it gets maximum sunshine all year round as the sun is facing it a lot more as compared to countries with a temperate climate which do not get as much sun at certain times of the year. That's why Singapore doesn't have "seasons" like winter, spring, autumn. Instead it has summer all year round. The only time it doesn't get sun is at night. All this constant sunshine keeps it constantly heated ( too well heated).

Rainforests in Singapore would be humid and wet Rainforests in Singapore would be humid and wet. Rainforest are covered with plants, animals, moss, trees, grass, sedges, creepers, waterfalls, bushes, flowers, hilly mountains, and much more. There are rocks and leaves that are on the rainforest floor. The center of the Rainforest is formed of igneous rocks and comprises of rounded hills, gentle spurs, valleys, lakes and much more.

The Hawk Moth Caterpillar is a caterpillar that comes from Singapore The Hawk Moth Caterpillar is a caterpillar that comes from Singapore. It is a very dangerous animal, but only at night. The only reason it comes out at night is because it does not like the light. The purpose of the blue eyes is to scare predators away especially ones that are bigger than them. The only way they can survive is not to go out at day, they use their eyes as weapons, eat animals smaller than them and hide in the grass and trees.

The Tembusu is a large evergreen tree in the family Gentianaceae The Tembusu is a large evergreen tree in the family Gentianaceae. It is native to South-east Asia. Its trunk is dark brown, with deeply fissured bark, looking somewhat like a bittergourd. It grows in an irregular shape from 10 to 25m high. Its leaves are light green and oval in shape. Its yellowish flowers have a distinct fragrance and the fruits of the trees are bitter tasting red berries which are eaten by birds and fruit bats. All the Tembusu needs to do to survive is to get sun and water. Tembusu is also a very helpful tree in many ways like, paper, chopping boards, floorboards, tables and much more.

The 1978 flood was one of the worst floods in Singapore’s history The 1978 flood was one of the worst floods in Singapore’s history. The flood started on the 2nd of December at 1pm, when heavy rain, loud thunder, lightning, howling winds, lashing rain and swirling waters began. Flood waters unleashed by the heaviest rainfall ever recorded in a single day (512.4 mm), caused roads to be submerged in more than a metre of water and impassable to traffic. The flood caused a lot damage and it costed $10 million singapore dollars to rebuild homes, buildings, etc.

More than 80% of it’s plant species are rare or dangerous. An area of a rainforest the size of a football field is being destroyed each second, about 2,000 trees per minute are cut down in the rainforests. The population in Singapore is 5.312 million. Seven people died in the 1978 floods (six drowned and one was electrocuted by a 'live' lamp post). More than 1,000 people were evacuated from their homes by army and police boats from five submerged areas. The Singapore Rainforests are home to over 300 species of Birds, Otters, Monitor Lizards, Vipers, Cobras, Malayan tigers, Clouded leopards and much more!

Singapore is still a beautiful place to visit even if there is pollution, fire, dangerous animals, and much more. I hope you have learnt something about the 1978 floods, terrain, the Hawk Moth Caterpillar the Tembusu, facts and much more.
