SPAIN HAS DONE A SIGNIFICANT EFFORT TO INCREASE ITS PRESENCE DIRECCIÓN GENERAL DE PLANIFICACIÓN Y EVALUACIÓN DE POLÍTICAS DE DESARROLLO SPAIN HAS DONE A SIGNIFICANT EFFORT TO INCREASE ITS PRESENCE AND COMMITMENT WITH MULTILATERAL ORGANIZATIONS SPANISH ODA CHANNELED THROUGH MULTILATERAL ORGANIZATIONS HAS INCREASED FOURFOLD IN THE LAST 4 YEARS.

INDICE PERCENTUAL INCREASE. DIRECCIÓN GENERAL DE PLANIFICACIÓN Y EVALUACIÓN DE POLÍTICAS DE DESARROLLO INDICE THE UNITED NATIONS FAMILY HAS EXPERIENCED THE SHARPEST PERCENTUAL INCREASE. IN 2004 UNITED NATIONS RECEIVED 4,5% OF TOTAL MULTILATERAL SPANISH ODA. IN 2007 RECEIVED 39% OF TOTAL MULTILATERAL SPANISH ODA 2004 2005 2006 2007 38,6M€ 35,4M€ 228M€ 860,8M€

GEOGRAPHIC PRIORITIES Increased focus on least developed countries (Africa) While maintaining engagements with traditional regions (Latin America, North Africa) SECTORAL PRIORITIES Very focused on MDGs, basic social services. But also some new areas: trade, economic development,
