Principles of the Constitution POPULAR SOVEREIGNTY

Today’s Goal Understand what the principle of Popular Sovereignty means. Understand why the Founding Fathers would have wanted to include Popular Sovereignty in the Constitution. Prepare to analyze how this principle is reflected in the Constitution.

What Will You Need? Popular Sovereignty Note Sheet Pen or Pencil Headphones The internet will be your resource for this assignment.

What is it? Read the definition above and see if you can explain out loud what popular sovereignty is. Don’t just read from the screen. Do you get it? If not, read it again. Choose one term/word that is new to you and look it up on dictionary.com and write out the definition on your paper.

Basic Understanding If any of these questions are difficult for you to answer, look up the information online.
