Transportation Professionals Advisory Committee Strategic Plan FY 2019- FY 2023 Transportation Professionals Advisory Committee Thursday, Oct 12, 2017 Hej, hej mitt namn ar…. The presentation here is an overview of the 2019-2023 Strategic Plan. This Strategic Plan, it is hoped, will provide a more comprehensive look at the goals of the agency and provide a better road-map of the agency for persons wishing to know more about the agency, its expenses, and its goals.

Five Year Strategic Plan Process C.O.R. Recommendations Received Strategic Plan with C.O.R. Recommendations and Added Access Department Projects Strategic Plan a Narrative of Projects for Annual Budget The question is, WHAT IS ACCESS SERVICES’ FIVE YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN? Access is looking forward to the future of the agency and what should be the medium-to-long term goals of the agency over the next five years. We have received the Comprehensive Operational Review which has short and longer term recommendations for Access projects. The Strategic Plan is looking at those recommendations along with ALL Access Department projects. To be a comprehensive list of goals for Access over the next five years. Lastly, these projects will be incorporated into the ANNUAL BUDGET shared with Metro in February 2018 for Access’ FY 2019 budget

Vision of the Strategic Plan 5 Year Horizon Agency projects from FY 2019 to FY 2023 For Transparency and Agency Focus The Vision of the Strategic Plan is to ask the question of WHERE WILL ACCESS BE in Five Years? What do we (inclusively) want this service and the agency to look like? What are the things that will best benefit our customers and what will improve the overall service? The goal is for transparency, so everyone can see and discuss the goals of the agency, while also focusing Access’ attention, so the agency moves towards a certain goal.

Strategic Plan Focus Areas Safety Customer Experience and Education Process Streamlining/Cost Control Improved Partnerships and Coordination There are Areas of Focus for the Strategic Plan which can be broken into four very important areas: SAFETY – some examples are (a) To have additional Road Safety Inspectors to respond to incidents; (b) To develop Access’ Disaster Recovery infrastructure so that in the event of a natural or man-made emergency, service will be able to continue and not leave customers stranded; (c) Upgrade and expand the capabilities of current on-board vehicle cameras; CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE AND CUSTOMER EDUCATION – (a) Ability to book trips through the Web or an app; (b) Develop informational videos for new customers to better understand how best to utilize Access; and (c) Allow a variety of payment methods for Access trips beyond cash and coupons. COST CONTAINMENT AND PROCESS STREAMLINING – (a) Become owner of Contractor Facilities; (b) Work towards a Centralized Trip Reservation platform; (c) Seek out Grant Funding for New Contractor Facilities PARTNERSHIPS AND COORDINATION (a) Work to create partnerships with Hospitals to reduce missed appointments; (b) Provide additional training & development opportunities for partners; (c) Strengthen partnerships with partner agencies to promote additional transportation options for Access customers

Strategic Plan Development and Next Steps Receive COR Recommendations –Complete Receive Projects from Staff – Complete Draft Strategic Plan - October/November Draft Strategic Plan to CAC, TPAC, and Board for comment – November Return to CAC, TPAC and Board – January 2018 So, the next steps for the Strategic Plan are as follows: We have now received the final recommendations from the Comprehensive Operational Review I have been working (with Onnika) to gather all of different projects that different Access departments would like to see as improvements for the agency What Is currently happening now is gathering the different goals of the agency into a vision – a STORY, if you will, of an improved Access Services In November the Draft Plan will be shared with this group for comments. CAC, TPAC and the Board will not be meeting in November, so we will do this over email. You should all have copies of the Plan ahead of the long Thanksgiving Day weekend. In January I will return with a Plan that has incorporated any and all comments from the CAC, TPAC and Board for your review.
