WHAT IS KOSMOS INNOVATION CENTER (KIC)? A new initiative that is KEG’s Flagship CSI Program. Uses innovative approaches and applies commercial solutions to solve development challenges. Dedicated team that is the public-facing platform from which to design, manage, and communicate its social and economic investment activities. KIC OBECTIVES Demonstrate Kosmos’ commitment to the country by low-footprint, high-impact programs that foster innovation in Ghana HOW IS KIC DIFFERENT? KIC relies on innovative solutions to solve existing social and economic challenges across any sector selected. Uses a market based approach that facilitates enterprises and entrepreneurs (the private sector) Establishes a new approach to corporate social investment that can be replicated across other sectors and countries. Transformative by changing two development paradigms in Ghana- shift to market-driven solutions from aid dependency and reshapes youths’ perception and interest of traditional sector development, through innovation

WHY DOES KIC MAKE SENSE? WHAT WILL KIC DO? Leverages the effectiveness of Kosmos’ commercial approach in Oil & Gas to deepen development impact Penetrates the entire sector value chain (needed for success). Reaches from individuals to commercial enterprises. WHAT WILL KIC DO? Selects a target sector, maps the constraints using analysis and expertise. Designs support activities, using innovative approaches to provide commercial solutions to solve the development challenge Leverages local partnerships (for expertise and resources) and employ innovation challenges, information sharing and promotional events, seed funding and technical assistance, and a strong communications campaign to encourage the application of new, or existing innovations, to sector problems.

WHAT IS KIC’S FIRST PROGRAM? The first challenge is focus on the nexus between ICT INNOVATION and AGRICULTURE, with the objective of inspiring budding Entrepreneurs to use technology to transform Ghana’s agricultural sector.
