Over 20 years experience raising my own children Currently, the department uses CBL data collection and PC analysis in 4 of its 2-semester courses Each of these courses utilizes lab investigations specifically written for CBL data collection, enabling students to perform experiments not previously possible in school labs All in-coming freshman are requested to purchase a TI-83 plus graphing calculator for science courses
Learning by Inquiry This is an inquiry based course. Scientific Thinking Takes many forms Currently the department has: 45 CBL and CBL 2 data collection devices connecting to 9 different types of probes 9 OHP-compatible TI-83 plus calculators with view screens 3 labs with on-line computers linked to view screens 15 specially written lab investigations for CBL data collection 72 computers equipped with Graphical Analysis, TI-Interactive, and TI-Graph Link software 3
