Back strain and injuries have increased workers’ compensation claims dramatically, and nurses are leaving the profession earlier than ever. At Stryker, we’ve developed a solution that not only provides far greater protection for caregivers, but also safeguards patients, reducing the risk of falls and the potential of injury during transfers and repositioning. It’s a new approach to designing equipment. We call it BackSmart. BackSmart beds, stretchers and surfaces are designed to reduce or eliminate tasks that can cause strain or injury to the back, arms and shoulders.
