7 RULES FOR THE ROAD Part 1 Desire to Change WHERE DO YOU WANT TO GO? 7 RULES FOR THE ROAD Part 1 Desire to Change

Take a Look Around Be that One! Before you begin your journey, take a look at exactly where you are in life right now. Change cannot happen without a fierce desire to burns with in you. In fact only one out of every nine people will act on the desire for something new and different. Be that One!

TAKE AN INVENTORY FOLD A PIECE OF PAPER INTO FOURTHS. LABEL THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF EACH BOX WITH ONE OF THESE CATEGORIES MIND BODY SOUL EMOTIONAL

MIND SOUL BODY EMOTIONAL

Next set at least one goal you want to achieve in each area. MIND SOUL Write down exactly where you are right now in the four key areas that make you who you are. This is your starting point. Next set at least one goal you want to achieve in each area. MIND II don’t like reading because its hard for me. GOAL: Read a chapter book for one hour every day. Start by reading a book that interests me for 15-20 minutes. Work up to an hour over the course of a week. SOUL I don’t feel connected to anything in nature. GOAL: Take a 30 minute walk along the Riverdale Parkway trail on Saturdays I don’t like running in P.E. GOAL: Run two full laps in the gym before walking one. Then run two more. Emotional I get angry over such little things. GOAL: Try to take a few deep breaths and think before I let myself get mad.

DESIRE If you want new or better results, you must change your behavior. You can’t change other people or control your environment, but you can change how you respond. By doing so, you can start your journey to success.

Questions to help you begin your journey: What gives you meaning, purpose and power? How do you want to change your life in each of the four areas? Why do you want to be different? What motivates you to be different? What goals will mean the most to you when you have accomplished them?
