Duties & Responsibilities As an employee of family care
Duties The Employee shall care for assigned patients through in-home assistance with activities of daily living. The Employees responsibilities include assisting assigned patients with normal daily activities, including but not limited to; getting in and out of bed, using a bedpan or toilet, planning and cooking meals, bathing and dressing patients, changing linens, and general cleaning. All employees are on a 90 day probation period from the date of hire.
Medication Reminders… Employees are to only give medication reminders. Employees are not to administer medications. Employees are not allowed to give medication from a pill bottle. If the medication is in a 7 day container or a blister pack they maybe given to the consumer.
Read Care plans… Employees are not allowed to take pulses, pulse oximetry, blood pressures, or blood glucose levels without notifying the office for approval. If they are listed on the care plan then the aide may perform these tasks. If they are not then you may not.
Documenting… Employees must document in communication book located at each residence the daily activities provided to each consumer. Complete the caregiver log form at the end of each shift. *** Note: Only a select number of consumers that require additional monitoring may have these care logs in their home.
Qualifications… Employees shall be required to obtain necessary clearances as a condition of employment and agrees to cooperate in obtaining any and all background checks which Family Care deems necessary. Drug Testing. All Employees are required to cooperate and successfully pass drug testing as deemed necessary by Family Care. A Valid form of ID must be on file. (ex. Pa drivers license, or any state ID) All Employees are required to obtain a TB test, Health Evaluation and keep this updated and on file with Family Care.
