Access Control in Windows Windows 7, Vista, XP

Disabling Windows Account in (Windows 7) Open Control Panel. Under User Account and Family settings click on the "Add or remove user account".

Disabling Windows Account in (Windows 7) Click on one of the user accounts, for example you can use the Guest account. Under the user account click on the "Go to the main User Account page" link.

Disabling Windows Account in (Windows 7) Under "Make changes to your user account" click on the "Change security settings" link.

Disabling Windows Account in (Windows 7) In the "Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure" click to unselect the "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer". Click on the Ok button.

Taking Ownership Now you need to type the user name or the group of users that will take ownership of the selected folder. If you type "Administrators" you will give ownership to all the users that are administrators on your PC. If you want to give ownership only to your user, then type your user name. Taking Ownership If the user or group was found on your computer, you will see that the text you typed was changed to [Your PC Name]\[User] or [Your PC Name]\[Group]. If so, press on OK. Prepared by Imtithal Alnour Saeed

Changing Permissions If you are not on the list of users or groups that have permissions defined, you should click on Add. If your user or group is on that list, select it, click on Allow Full Control and then press OK. Prepared by Imtithal Alnour Saeed
