HOMES

Cherokee Homes The cane was then covered with a thin layer of mud. Your family house hold would be one dozen in a Cherokee village. They had two houses one for summer and one for winter

Food

Cherokee Food You could add honey or maple sap boiled into syrup to sweeten your food. Corn was a favorite meal to the Cherokees. It depends on the time of the year what they eat.

Clothing

Cherokee Clothing If you were Cherokee the color of your skin might be light tan to dark tan. There skirts were decorated with small turkey feathers. They wore clothes out of animals skin like deerskin, bear,panther,beaver and buffalo

Other Interesting Facts The groom would send deer to the girls family this proved he was a good hunter and would always provide his wife with food. The bride gave him a ear of corn to show she would tend to her gardening and she could prepare good food.
