ACADEMIC CALENDAR Late withdrawals Through the 10th week of the semester (4th week for summer semester), students can withdraw from their classes through their student portal through UCDAccess. At the start of the 11th week (5th week for summer semester) through the Wednesday before finals week, students must submit a Late Withdrawal Petition to their home college. If the Late Withdrawal or Retroactive Withdrawal petition is approved, students are withdrawn from the courses indicated on the petition and a grade of W is recorded on their academic record. If the Late Withdrawal or Retroactive Withdrawal petition is not approved, students remain enrolled in the course.

FERPA Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 ACADEMIC CALENDAR FERPA Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 “A Federal Law designed to protect the privacy of education records, to establish the right of students to inspect and review their education records, and to provide guidelines for the correction of inaccurate and misleading data through informal and formal hearings.” In other words, university employees may not disclose confidential information about students, nor permit inspection of their records without written permission.
