Proper Dress for the Ladies: Iron Gown Dress or Nice Slacks No Big Heels Nice Sandals Are Okay Hats Square on Head – Tassel on Right Bobby Pins to Secure Hat
No one has to worry about the collars that are included with the gown. Limit Leis – They get in the way! You will not be allowed to wear hats that have been altered. Gowns must be zipped up.
Take pictures at home prior to leaving. Air horns and other noise makers confetti, silly string, balloons… are not allowed and will be taken away. A security check will be done at the entrance to the Maverik Center. Clean up fines are possible for spectators.
Cell phones should be left at home or with your family. Leave Home so you can arrive between 1:45 and 2:00 – left turn lane off of 3500 So. gets backed up. Traffic at Maverik Center will be bad – Plan ahead
Fill out Information Cards Completely. If your name is hard to pronounce write it in phonics above your name. Make sure you take your cards to the ceremony with you for the readers. Two pictures will be taken: before Name is announced- when diploma is received.
Enter Maverik Center from the South. Graduates will go down to the tunnels – spectators will go up to the seating. Men in East tunnel – Women in West Tunnel. No spectators will be allowed on the floor with the Graduates.

Guys should escort the Gals arm in arm until they reach their rows. Ladies first when going down the row. Go to the end of the row-seating is close. Trust your teachers! Remain standing for National Anthem. Gentlemen should remove hats for National Anthem.
Senior Class Officers, performers, Valedictorians at front of line. Large performing groups and signers will sit on the front rows. Senior Class Officers, Valedictorians, Speakers, National Anthem Singer will sit on the stage.

When you leave to receive your Diploma (cover) only take your name card with you. Teachers will tell you when and how to leave and help you find your seats.
Receiving Your Diploma “Cover” Shake Low With Your Right Hand Receive High With Your Left Hand Make sure when you get your Picture taken with Mr. Stauffer that you are holding your diploma up so it can be seen in the picture…and of course SMILE, you worked hard for it!
After all Graduates have had their name read and returned to their seats the Senior Class President will stand and lead the class of 2018 in moving their tassels from right to left, indicating official Graduation. She will then lead the class in singing the school song.
Your real diploma will be given to you after you return your gowns to Jostens. There won’t be time for additional pictures after the ceremony-Take pictures Before you leave home. You will receive nice programs when you pick up your diploma.
At the conclusion of the ceremony you will need to return your gowns in exchange for a ticket necessary to receive your diploma. Maverik center personnel will want to clean up and prepare for next group. You will need to leave the Maverik Center as quickly as possible.
