Marine Science Major Priority Areas Conservation and Protection of Aquatic Resources Domestic Water Sources and Conservation Stewardship of County Natural Resources Target Audiences Industry Schools County Residents Local Government Real Estate Developers Tourist

Long Range Goals: To utilize University resources like Lake Watch and Aquatic Sciences department to support local preservation efforts. Stakeholders make informed decisions when evaluating water sources using researched based information and appropriate network contacts. Stewardship and community pride for local natural resources. Outcome Indicators: Number of Community Volunteers collecting water samples and change in number of samples submitted. Decisions regarding source of water are made based on sound information and community discussion, limiting politics. (hard to measure) Natural Resource projects or events that are the result of extension programming. These events are usually documented in the news media and the message carried to others; even if they were not directly involved.
