Crew Pre-game Referee’s give RO about 15 minutes in pregame to review items RO not here to officiate from the booth Here to confirm & help if there is an issue RO’s goal in a stoppage Look at all helpful shots Rule as quickly as possible Don’t be upset with stands (don’t want to waste time to confirm if stands is apparent immediately Review Red Hat proceedure Scores Turnovers

On Field Items Prior to Game and at Halftime RO check pagers at 60 minutes, when crew arrives on the field Referee check field headsets and field phone w/RO after pager check. RO communicate any system issues with Referee at that time. RO check pagers again at 1 minute, prior to crew breaking to positons Halftime: RO check pagers again at 1 minute, prior to crew breaking to positons

Replay Proceedures after R Announcement RO hits button and Communicator says “Replay/Replay” on comm Referee (at head sets): Confirm that RO can hear you Have back to press box & clear of bench (don’t joke with BJ) Confirm with RO what was called on the field RO let Referee know what you are looking at R be quit and listen (RO to keep mic open so R can hear discussion) Answer any questions RO may have RO confirm decision of Confirm/Stands/Overturn RO tell R what to announce regarding replay, including: Down / Distance / Ball Positon / Clock / Snap or Ready R repeat back and then make announcement

System Issues If system goes down RC will communicate down through the comm that the system is not operational (for crew knowledge only) If system does not come back up, RC will communicate to the crew via the comm system and the coaches will be notified thru the wing officials If system comes back up, we will communicate this to the coaches via the wing officials We will not make an announcement by the Referee

Use of Communication System RC will listen to crews comments, especially during penalties and other crew discussions RC can help with items like Spots #’s on PF, UNS & fouls Clock help Touching 10 second runoff RC will announce over comm when replay is happening May be able to help on scores & turnovers as well Along with On Field Assistant

In Closing Big undertaking for the conference and for the schools Will be glitches Keep track of anything you would like to see differently as you progress through the season and email them to me.
