Area and Perimeter Siarad gyda partner.- What is perimeter? What is area? Listen, watch, learn. Grandewch, edrychwch, dysgwch.

How do we find the area of a triangle? There is a simple formula to help us work this out. It is ½ the base multiplied by its height. area_of_triangles_formula.ppt

What is volume? http://inteleducationresources.intel.co.uk/content/primary/maths/volume/ index.html So what is the formula we use to find the volume of a cube or cuboid? Length X Width X Height

Reading dials, jugs and scales. Check the main marks and then the smaller division in between. If you are not sure, have a try. Are the small marks going up in 1s, 2s, 10s, 20s, 50s, 100s, 200s ? Count and check:- This example is going up in 50s. So count every small Mark from 750 ml,- 750, 800, 850 and we get to 900ml. Try the next few examples coming up.

It goes up in 100s, so it is 1,600 ml. Year 6 What about this? 650 ml

1750 g 1.75kg 3200 g 3.2kg 600 g 0.6 kg

Angles Using a protractor. What is the name of a 90° angle? Right angle 2] What is the name of an angle less than 90°? Acute angle 3] What is the name of an angle which is more than 90° degrees but less than 180°? Obtuse angle 4] What is the name of an angle which is more than 180°? Reflex angle 5] How many degrees in a straight line? 180° 6] How many in a triangle? 7] How many in a circle? 360° 8] What about a quadrilateral?
