American Issues PBL: First Steps Appoint a group leader. Exchange best contact info with group. Read “20 Issues” and decide on top 3 choices. By Thursday, your group should see Ms. Yeganegi to sign up for your choice of issue. On Friday, meet in the Media Center. You will conduct individual research on your issue and have a group meeting for the last 15 minutes of class. Your individual research report is due by Monday, March 12. Start working together to plan out your project – there are many components and you should not wait until that last week of work days to be preparing.

Love is in the Air Rhetorical Valentine Writing Activity Since tomorrow is the day of love, today you will practice the art of rhetoric by writing a persuasive valentine. Your audience may be whoever you desire – a friend, parent, sibling, favorite teacher, or a significant other. You may write in whatever form and tone you want (maybe it’s a lovey-dovey poem, a serious letter, a sarcastic sonnet…) Follow the instructions on your handout to show me which rhetorical devices you are using. You must turn in a rough draft on the handout. Create a beautiful final draft to gift to your Valentine tomorrow.
