On the left side of the slide the Air Force currently has 7 buying offices or what we call contracting squadrons (CONS) supporting our Air Force bases in Alaska, Hawaii, and Guam. Some believe we only have one contracting office in Hawaii, as you can see that is not the case. In AFICA OL PAC, we care and feed for all of the seven squadrons, although they don’t all formally report through AFICA/KH….some work directly for their respective Wing (or Base) Commander. Please take note that FAR Part 19 does not apply to our bases in Japan. That is why they are colored in gray. What this means that SB concerns do not apply (e.g. 8(a) set asides, woman owned preferences, hubzone, etc…) However this does not mean you are not allowed opportunities to bid on our requirements in Japan. I’ll speak on this later in my brief. On the right side of this chart please also take note that even though the Air Force has bases in Korea, all purchasing/contracting activities for the Air Force are managed by the Army or the 411th Contracting Support Brigade.
