Integrity God extols personal integrity as a virtue (Job 2:3, 27:5, 31:6; Psa. 7:8, 25:21, 26:1, 26:11; 41:12; 78:72; Prov. 11:3, 19:1, 20:7). The original word for “integrity” in some of these passages is elsewhere translated “upright”, “uprightly”, “full”, and/or “perfect”.

Integrity The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; Wholeness and unity http://dictionary.cambridge.org/u s/dictionary/english/integrity

“Personal Integrity” We might say that, “integrity is having it all together”. It means to be properly balanced in all aspects of our life. In this lesson, we will seek to notice several aspects of “Personal Integrity”.

“Personal Integrity” (Psalm 7:8)

Sense of Direction Nehemiah understood his purpose (Neh. 2:5). Jesus understood His purpose (Lk. 19:10). The Apostle Paul understood his purpose (Eph. 3:8-11).

Steadfast Commitment to Goals Nehemiah had to travel afar. He had an enormous task (Neh. 2:17). He ran into great opposition from enemies (Neh. 2:10, 19; 4:1, 7-9). Had to contend with internal problems (Neh. 5:1-13).

Steadfast Commitment to Goals Jesus contended with temptation (Heb. 4:15). He dealt with the prospect of danger (Jn. 11:7-10). He did not allow fear nor dread to deter Him (Heb. 5:7-9). He did not allow the shame of the cross to deter Him (Heb. 12:2).

Steadfast Commitment to Goals Paul endured much hardship (1 Cor. 11:23-28). Through all he persevered (2 Tim. 4:7). He kept his eye on the mark (Phil. 3:14; 1 Pet. 1:13).

Self-Respect Maintaining Standards There are certain standards the person of integrity will not fall below: Daniel (Dan. 1:8) Nehemiah (Neh. 6:10-12) Job (Job 31:1)

Self-Respect Maintaining Standards There are many standards for which we should have and keep: Maintain honesty; honor paying of debts (Rom. 13:8; Eph. 6:6) Honor one another; keep word (Ps. 15:1-4) Do our best (Ecc. 9:10; Col. 3:17)

Balance Jesus’ emotions were ALWAYS on an even keel. He NEVER allowed anything to disturb His walk with God. He knew what to love AND to hate.

Balance Jesus knew how to be gentle; also when/how to be angry without sin. He knew how to put love and service above immediate desires of the flesh. We need to strive earnestly for this balance (Prov. 4:11; Is. 2:3; Matt. 7:13).

Personal Integrity It means to be properly balanced in all aspects of our life. In this lesson, we noticed several aspects of “Personal Integrity”: Sense of Direction Steadfast Commitment to Goals Self-Respect/ Maintaining Standards Balance
