Social Groups Like having groups of friends, there are groups of people People that interact with each other with a sense of unity are a social group Societies are large social groups Can be defined by geography, political association, culture, et cetera Societies help define social interaction Societies, and social interaction, vary by geography, culture, et cetera

Social Structure Every society has a unique social structure Meaning people have a place in a social hierarchy Culture, political affiliation, and religion all affect social structures Japanese “money culture” Dynastic social superiority The Islamic perspective of women

Intellectual Contributions An Introductory Overview

Social Thought Social networks connect people and ideas Societies produce a collective thought through education This is affected by culture, religion, et cetera Intellectual contributions are useful ideas that go beyond one society The invention of geometry helps humans construct better buildings The invention of the iPhone helps humans have access to the world
