NROTC MISSION Prepare qualified Men and Women to serve as commissioned officers in the United States Marine Corps.

Scholarship Types Regular – Marine Option Fredrick C. Branch Must attend 1 of 17 historically African American Universities Pedro De Valle Must attend 1 of 3 historically Hispanic Universities Can apply for more than one

The Benefits $180,000 or more in scholarship money Full tuition, books, and uniforms costs $250 stipend each month Opportunities for summer training with Marine Corps fleet units

Eligibility U.S. Citizen 17-23 Years of Age 1000 SAT, 22 ACT, 74 AFQT High School Graduate Meet Physical Requirements No Moral Disqualifications Be admitted to a participating NROTC college or university

NROTC Requirements

Academic Requirements Select ANY undergraduate major Carry regular course load (12 hours) Attend Naval Science Courses One per semester (Ethics, history of warfare) Maintain good academic standing Must not drop below a 2.0 average

Required Activities Weekly Drill Day Wear uniform to class Approximately 2 hours Various activities Leadership opportunities

Summer Requirements Sophomore Freshman – 4 Week “Cruise” 1 week aboard a ship 1 week learning about air warfare 1 week learning about underwater warfare 1 week learning about Marines Sophomore Marine oriented; your choice Air, mountain warfare, cold weather training, etc… Junior – Officer Candidates School 6 Weeks Designed to screen and evaluate your leadership skills, academic abilities, and physical fitness. Ultimate test and proving ground for those you seek to lead Marines

After College Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant Attend The Basic School – 6 months Receive military occupational specialty (MOS) at The Basic School
