About Hussain Sagar The Hussain Sagar Lake was built by Hussain Shah Walli in 1562, during the rule of Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah. Surprising but true, the water of Hussain Sagar was used for drinking and irrigation for over 350 years!

Rapid urbanization and industrial development all along the catchment areas has resulted in inflow of sewage, industrial waste and solid waste into the Hussain Sagar Lake

Goal and Objectives Environmental education for conservation of Hussain Sagar lake and its environs Enhancing visitor awareness about the natural and cultural heritage value of Hussain Sagar Raising awareness in students about the natural and cultural heritage value of Hussain Sagar Provide mechanism for involvement of stake holders (visitors, vendors,BPPA) in conservation
