It appears many are curious of God, but are turned off by the thought of “organized religion”. Organized Religion: “a structured system of faith or worship, especially one followed by a large number of people, such as Christianity, Islam, or Judaism.” Does the God of the Bible care anything about a structured system of faith or worship?

“Organized Religion” (2 Tim. 3:16-17; Jn. 4:24)

A Structured System Of Faith or Worship N.T. “faith” (pistis) mean, “primarily, ‘firm persuasion’, a conviction based upon hearing, and is used in the N.T. always of “faith in God or Christ, or things spiritual.” (Rom. 10:17) OT “to worship” (sahah) means to “prostrate oneself, bow down”. This word is found in the modern Hebrew in the sense of “to bow or stoop,” but not in the sense of “to worship”. The act of bowing down in homage is generally done before a superior or a ruler. NT translates “worship” from various words. Some of their definitions are as follows: “to make obeisance, do reverence to”, “to revere, stressing the feeling of awe or devotion”, “to honor religiously”, “to serve, to render religious service or homage”, “to act piously towards”. (Jn. 4:24)

Organized Religion (A structured system of faith or worship) God’s ways throughout every dispensation have consisted of more than just ritual. God wants for us to be a special people, ones set apart to live by imitating His characteristics. Our manner of living, and our worship, must be in accordance with faith (2 Tim. 3:16-17; Jn. 4:24).
