Early Life He is the the eldest of five children in a White Argentine family of Spanish, Basque and Irish descent. Guevara was introduced to a wide variety of political perspectives even as a boy. His father was a supporter of the Spanish Civil War and hosted some of the war veterans in the Guevara home.

Motorcycle Journey In 1948, Guevara entered the University of Buenos Aires to study medicine. In 1951 he took a year off from studies to go on a trip in South America by motorcycle with his friend Alberto Granado. He had a goal of spending a few weeks volunteering at the San Pablo Leper colony in Peru, on the banks of the Amazon River.

Ernestos Marriage In Guatemala City, Guevara sought out Hilda Gadea Acosta. She was a Peruvian economist who was a member of the American Popular Revolutionary Alliance. He married Gadea in Mexico in September of 1955.

It documented how a small group of irregulars could defeat the organized army of the Government by recruiting support from the common man on the street which is exactly what happened during the Cuban Revolution.

On October 11, hiss handless body, and the bodies of six of his executed colleagues, is secretly buried near the airport at Vallegrande.
