Style of Drama

Tragedy Vocab Tragedy: Sober, thoughtful plays that are based on profound human emotions and conflicts that do not change with time or place. Protagonist: The focus of every tragedy, the main character. They are going to fail. Inevitability: What will happen will happen no matter what.

Tragedy Vocab. Continued Pathos: The quality of drama that arouses feelings of pity and compassion. Catharsis: An emotional release that is a result of the pity we feel when the protagonist falls.
