Teachers As Scholars Teachers as Scholars provides MSUNER teachers and administrators an opportunity to immerse themselves in scholarly topics and issues in small, liberal arts seminars offered by university faculty. Montclair State University offers seminars that focus on three main areas: Great Lives and Literatures; Living, Learning, and the Arts; and Science Matters.

Teacher Research Group Grant A TRG is meant to provide an opportunity for educators to take responsibility for their own professional development and renewal by engaging in collaborative learning and structured inquiry that will advance the goal of simultaneous renewal of the schools and the education of educators.  Gives a group of educators a chance to work and learn together about a topic of mutual interest. Each partner district is entitled to $1,000 in funding for the academic year. For each district, funds will be divided among the number of research groups that are accepted and by the nature of the project.  The maximum funding for any one research group grant is $500.

Teacher Incentive Grant The purpose of Teacher Incentive Grants is to encourage teachers to enhance student learning by experimenting with new teaching strategies, explore ways to improve students' math and literacy skills, develop a class project, etc. This grant is for a teacher who would like to work on a specific short-term project. All you need is an idea. Projects will be funded in the range of $100 – $200, depending on the project.

Clinical Faculty Teachers in partner districts can apply to the University for appointment as Clinical Faculty members. We seek experienced, highly effective teachers who see themselves as learners as well as teachers. Once appointed, Clinical Faculty members may be eligible to serve as cooperating teachers, on-site education mentors, co-facilitators of mini-courses, co-teachers of student teaching seminars, and adjunct faculty for other courses at the University. They are also eligible to apply for MSUNER Grant Opportunities. Clinical Faculty also have access to campus privileges
