Work-Based Learning Experiences must Supplement Not Supplant These WBLE services must be new, expanded or a continuation of services previously delivered through the TPCA. WBLE may not be used to supplant existing school programs or services.

ES Qualifications Work-Based Learning Experiences Four years’ related experience, evidenced by a resume’ that reflects either: experience or employment in a public vocational rehabilitation program; or experience in job placement, job coaching, or counseling; or other related experience working with persons with disabilities. OR A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as rehabilitation, counseling, social work, psychology, education, human resources, business administration, or economics, from accredited college or university and one year’s experience as described above. OR A Master’s Degree in a related field such as rehabilitation, counseling, social work, psychology, education, human resources, business administration, or economics, from accredited college or university and six months’ experience as described above. OR An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an unrelated field, and two years’ experience as described above. OR Current Exceptional Student Education Teaching Certificate. OR Current Certified Education Teaching Certificate with a certificate offered by a Secondary or Institution of Higher Education that prepares educators to work with students or youth with disabilities.

Background Screening: Updated from printed PP Work-Based Learning Experiences Background Screening: Updated from printed PP Pursuant to section 413.208, Florida Statutes, the ES who will have direct, face-to-face contact with students on behalf of VR is required to undergo a Level II background screening via the AHCA Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse. Upon preliminary approval of your application, you will be sent instructions on ho9w to obtain the screening through the Clearinghouse. The WBLE App will remain in a “pending status until your screening(s) are approved.”

Employment Specialist Responsibilities Tier identification is made by school and provided to VR staff. Work closely with the VR staff to develop a WBLE Plan and Agreement* that includes the services and supports that will be required for each student based on their WBLE goal or expected outcome and needs. Provide the services identified in the Plan and Agreement to assist students in making progress towards or achieving their WBLE goal or expected outcome. Submit monthly Student Progress Reports (SPR)s for each student being served. Submit a WBLE Rating Form* for each student at the completion of his/her WBLE. Submit a WBLE Final Report* at the end of each WBLE indicating the student’s progress towards or achieving the WBLE goal or expected outcome. The WBLE Plan and Agreement Work-Based Learning Experiences The WBLE Plan and Agreement Is a benchmark created with the ES, VR Staff, Student, Parent/Guardian, and employer. It must be approved and signed by all parties. The WBLE Plan and Agreement includes services and supports that will be required for each student based on his/her WBLE goal or expected outcome and needs.

Monthly Student Progress Reports Work-Based Learning Experiences Monthly Student Progress Reports This deliverable includes information about the work that is happening towards each student’s WBLE goal or outcome. This is reviewed and approved by VR staff.

Work-Based Learning Experiences WBLE Rating Form This deliverable collects performance feedback on each student from his/her site supervisor. This must be signed by the site supervisor to be approved by VR staff.

Work-Based Learning Experiences The Final Report This is a benchmark that is completed at the end of each WBLE indicating each student’s progress towards achieving his/her IPE and/or WBLE goal or expected outcome.

Work-Based Learning Experiences WBLE Invoices - Completed by the School District Point of Contact (POC) Invoice is a document the POC creates to submit for payment at the end of each month if a benchmark is met. The invoice must include the Date, Student’s Name, Tier, WBLE #, Completed Benchmark, and Payment amount. *Sample invoice is in your packet
