Human Body System

Skeletal System Provide support and protection to the body. Bones….

Digestive System Physical and chemical breakdown of food. Mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine.

Muscular System Participates in bringing about movement, maintains posture, and produces heat. Muscles…..

Lymphatic System It’s main purpose is to help defend the body against microorganisms and against harmful foreign particles and debris from lymph before it is returned to the blood stream. Lymph nodes, Liver, Spleen, Appendix.

Endocrine System Helps regulate body functions through hormones transported by the blood to various target organs.

Circulatory System The main function of this system is to circulate blood throughout the body. Carry oxygen and nutrients to cells and carbon dioxide and wastes away from the cells. Heart, blood, and blood vessels.

XX-Female XY- Male Reproductive System The purpose of this system is to produce offspring. XX-Female XY- Male Ovaries (female) Testis (male)

Urinary System The main function of this system is to produce, store, and eliminate urine.

Integumentary System The main function is protection from the outside environment and regulate body temperature. Skin, hair, and nails.

Nervous System It regulates body activities through nerve impulses by detecting changes in the environment.

Immune System The body’s defense against bacteria and viruses.

Respiratory System Main functions of this system is transferring oxygen from inhaled air to blood and carbon dioxide from blood to exhaled air. Lungs, bronchus, trachea, larynx, and pharynx.
