Achieving Lasting Happiness Original Sin has darkened our intellect and weakened our will, but not obliterate it. Through the Paschal Mystery – our humanity has been transformed by the gift of the Holy Spirit. Christ “fully reveals man to himself”. Because we were made in the image of God, everything works better in this world when we act according to how we were created.

A prayer for our earth – by Pope Francis All-powerful God, you are present in the whole universe and in the smallest of your creatures. You embrace with your tenderness all that exists. Pour out upon us the power of your love, that we may protect life and beauty. Fill us with peace, that we may live as brothers and sisters, harming no one. O God of the poor, help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this earth, so precious in your eyes. Bring healing to our lives, that we may protect the world and not prey on it, that we may sow beauty, not pollution and destruction. Common Good and Charity What is the relationship of the common good with love? Being able to provide for what a person needs, not necessarily what they want. Even if everyone in society wants something, it may not be for their ultimate good (even if it seems like a good idea)
