Drums, Girls, Dangerous Pie. Presentation By Arsen Drums, Girls, Dangerous Pie. BY Jordan Sonnenblick

INTRODUCTION “Drums Girls Dangerous Pie” is an awesome story for boys by Jordan Sonnenblick. It is about a boy called Steven who plays drums very well. Having a little brother is awful, at least for Steven. Jeffrey is his annoying brother who is always in stupid situations. When Jeffrey gets cancer, Stevens world is changed

Setting Steven is living in about 1990-es I think so because he uses videotapes. “I finally videotaped about fifteen minutes of him sleeping, which I though would settle his issue.’’ He grows in a loving rich atmosphere, “Most of kids like to go to gym during O.P. the track, the weight, and the pool are all open, and you can play basketball or volleyball, too.” This means he lives in a rich family, also they could keep Jeffery in a good medicine center when he fell down from a chair. The story occurs in Pennsylvania.

Character Beginning Steven is playing drums very well. He is the only middle schooler in secondary band. He is very talented. “Holy cow, this kid is a magician,” people say about Steven. He is stubborn and he argues with teachers and doesn't stop. Also he doesn't care about his brother, “Common Jeffery it is just a nosebleed. He says, ‘’ if parents come, they'll kill me.’’ Steven is very smart, “So eight. Eight times three is twenty four. Plus time in class, which is forty four minutes times seven… ummm…OK, that's a hundred and eight minutes and eight minutes right there.’’ He is smart.

Plot Beginning Steven was a boy who had a brother Jeffery. Jeffrey was an annoying person. Once when Steven was making breakfast, Jeffrey fell on the floor and had a nosebleed. His parents scolded Steven and took care of Jeffery. Steven played drums very well and people called him magician.

Plot Middle Steven was annoyed by five years old Jeffrey, but then he realized Jeffrey got leukemia, cancer of blood. Steven’s world turned upside down. Parents were not telling Jeffrey. It was such a pain for parents. It was also such a hard time for Steven because his mom quit her job and took care of Jeffrey. Steven’s dad had financial problems because he needed to pay medical bills. Steven tried to keep secret about Jeffrey's illness. The family got their income cut in half but they didn't give up.

Plot End At the end, Steven's friend Sam that he met in hospital is ended up being sick with leukemia. She is sicker and sicker. She was dying with her mother by her side, not her sister. Steven’s life literally changed with this all hard stuff. But can a book have bad ending? Steven got a girlfriend, he had always loved Renee Albert. He realized he fell in love with his friend that watched Jeffrey. He and Annette Watson were now in love. Eventually Jeffrey had a remission and he got better. Now he is not sick with cancer.

Character End Steven’s world changed, and it changed him too. When his problem with Jeffrey was occurring, had to keep secret. He was fine at the beginning, but now he realized that he had a good life. When his parents were paying all attention to Jeffrey, he had to be somewhere else. It is so hard when a child is annoying you and you have a limit, you can't express all your feelings and probably, in real life, I wouldn't be able to keep my feelings and keep secret. ‘’ We got to Philly. My mom met us. Jeffrey got installed in a room. His IV bags got hung. I stayed with him until he fell asleep for a nap.’’ He still stays smart and talented, but after his world upside down he will be always prepared for next situation.Steven had changed a lot and became a lot braver and older.

Dialogue My voice came out all quiet and wobbly. Ummm, there was a patient here. Her name is Samantha. She is my name. Now she is not here, but she she is always in this room. Did she get sent home? The nurse looked uncomfortable. Well… And then I knew She is dead? She died? ANSWER ME! Yes, she passed away early yesterday morning. She wasn't alone, was she? Was her mother with her? Yes as far as I know, her mother was with her. This shows me how Steven values friendship and thinks about others. I chose this dialogue because it shows what he feels about Samantha and how nervous he is. It also shows how caring he is and how frustrated he is and he is ready to kill all the people in the hospital.

Theme I think this story teaches us to help other people even though you are not close to them, help people with their problems. ‘’This is Renee Albert, Hi, Steven. I hope your brother is OK. Hi, Mr. Alper. Hi Mrs.Alper. Good news! We just finished totaling up the proceeds from the concert. TWENTY- THREE THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY-NINE DOLLARS AND SEVENTEEN CENTS.’’ This shows me how other kids care and think about Jeffrey. This is the lesson of this. Also not to give up and continue fighting when it is desparate.

Conclusion I think this book teaches a lot of moral lessons and in general this book is very interesting to read. I think this book is special because it has a very good ending and it is very detailed. You can read it on vacation. It has good and bad moments. The boy is sick with cancer and then is cured. This can make you a little nervous, and that is what I like about it. It makes you imagine the story. It can make you dissolve into the story like a tablet in water. I really like this book and I hope to read more books like this.
