Impact on Russia, China, and Islamic World Russia- Mongols conquered most of Russia and controlled it for the next 200 years. Mongol words, dress and customs found their way into Russian culture. China- The Mongols united China under one rule. Trade along the Silk Road increased. This allowed more trade between Europe and China and cultural diffusion to occur. Islamic World- The Abbasids (Islamic leadership) was defeated in Baghdad. This allowed other groups to take control of the area such as the Ottomans.
