POLITICAL Refers to the government of the country or region Concerned with Safety and stability and the gov’t in power How are its relations with Canada (and the United States) Women’s rights in the country War, Terrorism, Riots, Demonstrations, Crime Capitalist Democracies historically tied to Canada and the most attractive to travellers

Technological Refers to the modern amenities of a region Concerned with Communications, computer networks for business and modern banking practices. Cell phone coverage, internet stability Recent entertainment upgrades Ie)T.V, Gaming systems, latest recreational equipment, movies etc

ECONOMIC Refers to the wealth and economy of a region Concerned with How well developed the infrastructure is. (roads, water, sewage, airports, hotels, shopping venues, hospitals, electricity) How well developed the tourist industry is (hotels, tourist sites, souvenirs, transportation, and entertainment) The wealthier the better! As a tourist we are more comfortable and a better experience.

Cultural Refers to the human characteristics of people within the region Concerned with Religion, Language, Food, Architecture, History, Customs, Society Norms, Women’s rights, and male attitudes Familiarity of the culture to our own. The more similar, the easier and more attractive to travel there for the typical tourist

Location and Proximity Refers to how close and accessible a region is to use here in southern Ontario, Canada and what natural features it offers. Concerned with Cost, Distance and Time required to travel to destination. Ease, comfort and safety of travel. Popular with airlines etc. or good road and rail network. Well posted routes. Natural offerings of region (beaches, mountains, etc.
