Barnes Farm Infant School New to Year 1

From Foundation to Year 1 The Foundation team worked closely with the Year One team to ensure there is a smooth transition between the year groups. Assessments take place in the summer term and are passed on to the new Year One team. These form the starting point for learning at the beginning of Year One. This term we are concentrating on supporting the children in becoming more independent learners.

We aim to… To build confident learners who know how to move their learning on if they are stuck. To create learners who are not afraid to make mistakes and who can learn from the mistakes they make. To provide a curriculum which is fun and engaging and provides opportunities to develop personal, social and emotional skills which will last a lifetime.

Communication with School If there are any problems at all – please come in and see us. There will be an adult on the door every morning for quick messages to be passed on (particularly if someone new is collecting your child). Mrs Farmer and Mrs Speller are available on the playground most days at the beginning or the end of the day. For more sensitive issues appointments after school can be made.
