Design Cycle: Creating

Criterion D: CREATE Students are expected to DOCUMENT, with a series of photographs or a video the process of making their product/solution, including when and how they use tools, materials and techniques. Students are expected to follow the plan while they are creating the product/solution. Achievement level DESCRIPTOR 0- The student did not reach the standard described by any of the descriptors. 1-2 The student considers the plan and creates at least part of a product/solution. 3-4 The student uses appropriated techniques and equipment. The student follows the plan and mentions any modifications made, resulting in a product/solution of good quality. 5-6 The student COMPLETELY uses appropriate techniques and equipment. The student follows the plan and justifies any modifications made, resulting in the product/solution of appropriate and excellent quality using the resources available.

How do I show the creation of my design? Once you have outlined your plan to create, you must show how to create the design.

Videos & Pictures Pictures Step by step instructions. Too many is better than not enough.

Video & Pictures Video Proper “Studio” Need a script Clean Quiet Enough Light On Location… Need a script Free Flowing Script, it should sound planned but natural

Modifications, Modifications, Modifications During this part of the Design Brief you must mention any modifications and justify these changes. This must be included in your photographs or video.

To complete Criterion D: Create a video OR series of pictures that shows the creation of your product/solution.

To get a 5/6 for Criterion D: Explain each step thoroughly. Mention your modifications to your initial design. Justify why you made those modifications. **WOW FACTOR**

Class work for today… *Won’t be in Design Brief, but helps you get Criterion D Done Take your Tools Materials & Techniques and turn them into complete sentences. Write out your script for your video OR step by step instructions that will accompany your pictures. *Don’t forget modifications you made and justify why you made them.
