“Planting SEEDs of HOPE… Harvesting a platform for sustainable transformation” To borrow the words from the Pastor’s devotional on yesterday evening, the VT you are currently on is not about information, rather transformation With that in mind, I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to present the AART’s long-term strategy for partnership. It’s called The Village Movement What is TVM? - It’s a global discipleship platform where together we are “Planting SEEDs of HOPE”…while “Harvesting a platform of sustainable transformation”

“Global Discipleship through Covenant Partnership” The Village Movement “Global Discipleship through Covenant Partnership” TVM is all about Global Discipleship through Covenant Partnerships It’s about aligning the 3 C’s of Compassion with the 3 C’s or pillars of communities of African Descent

Purpose Statement “It takes a Village to raise a child” “Releasing children from global poverty, holistically, through the local church in communities of African descent one child, one family, one community at a time.” “It takes a Village to raise a child” – African Proverb TVM is based off of the African Proverb… It’s purpose is… I like to describe it this way…concentric circles

Global Discipleship “Planting SEEDs of HOPE in the local church and surrounding community for sustainable transformation in Jesus’ name” And we accomplish this call to Global Discipleship through the SEED model of ministry with an emphasis on global and local ministry. The SEED model of ministry focuses on encouraging, equipping, and challenging a local congregation or student body to grow in four key areas… Stewardship by investing financially and holistically we provide hope for the present (Ministry of the Will…Matt 6:33) The commitment to service the needs of children and families in Jesus’ name When God has your will He has everything else – time, talents, tenths, etc. Encouragement/Enrichment by communicating consistently we provide hope for the present (Ministry of Presence…Heb 10:25) The commitment to be present How can you show up for the children and families in your concentric circle? Evangelism/Missions by engaging spiritually we provide hope for the future (Ministry of Reach…Acts 1:8) The commitment to witnessing locally and abroad How can you reach children and families inside and outside of your concentric circle? Discipleship by living a life of inclusivity we provide hope for the present and future generations (Ministry of Invitation…Matt 28:18-20) The commitment to posterity thru holistic child development How can you invite children and families into your concentric circle to live life together holistically along The Way while developing global disciples to become global leaders?

Mutual respect and benefits… Visible outcomes... Covenant Partnership Mutual respect and benefits… Visible outcomes... Based on our philosophy of partnership… What do I mean by Covenant Partnership? (4 Criteria) Founded upon our identity in Christ Seeks mutually respectful and beneficial relationships Humility, service, empowerment, and sharing of resources (including finances) Emphasizes trust, communication, and unselfishness Accepts mutual responsibility and commitment Produces visible transformation and outcomes (the work that we do together should be greater than the work we would accomplish a part) Any questions about covenant partnership?

compassion ministry phases Phase 1: Stewardship – Ministry of the Will Focus on cultivating the will of the congregation Phase 2: Encouragement – Ministry of Presence Focus on community and global presence Phase 3: Evangelism/Missions – Ministry of Reach Focus on witnessing locally and globally Phase 4: Discipleship – Ministry of Invitation Focus on developing global disciples to become global leaders Phase 5: Plant another SEED Host/Partner church model So what does this TVM partnership look like? Our desire is to come along side you to launch a Compassion Ministry that consist of four teams that coincide with each element of SEED. In each phase, we launch the corresponding Ministry Team for your ministry Phase 1: Compassion Weekend (Standard Compassion Marketing Materials, plus video promotions) Part 1: Goal 10% CDSP Part 2: Community Movie Night (Launch Compassion Ministry, plus co-branded promotions) Phase 2: Walk with Compassion Phase 3: Sponsor Tours (STMT) Phase 4: CDCL (Church Plant), Host/Partner church model (to repeat the process)

Objectives Awareness of TVM, partners, and poverty (both global and domestic) through marketing and promotion Education via global discipleship curriculum Participation and retention through volunteer participation Partnership through child sponsorship enabling partner growth in gratitude, generosity, and discipleship Enhance the connection between church, campus, and community relations via launching contextually-based Compassion ministries

ROLE of TVM Partners Commit to long-term partnership 5 year roadmap for the SEED model of ministry Disciple a child through sponsorship Enlist staff, leaders, and congregation to disciple a child Engage community participation and pastors for partnership Commit to long-term partnership Support and participation of Pastor, staff, leaders, and congregation to execute the 5 year road map Includes Vision Meeting and internal Vision Luncheon Disciple a child through sponsorship Pastor (and family) Enlist staff, leaders, and congregation to disciple a child Staff, leaders, and congregation sponsor a child Includes annual Compassion Weekends Engage community participation and pastors for partnership Seek ways to invite campus and community organizations for partnership with your Compassion Ministry Identify and recommend like-minded pastors for TVM partnership

www.thevillagemovement.org Today, I want to encourage you to consider partnering with Compassion and The Village Movement so that together we can plant seeds of hope to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. Later today, James is going to talk to you about next steps for becoming partner of TVM. Like Daniel and Shelia, James is a RM for the AART and serves as the primary RM for the pastors on this VT and he will be the one navigating you through the initial steps of this long-term relationship. For more information, visit www.thevillagemovement.org and complete the inquiry form.
