Best Practices To provide the additional nutrition by providing fresh and seasonal fruits among students weekly To take the meal with dignity the government has distributed THALI & GILAS in all schools covered under MDMS. With the help of UNICEF for the training of Cook-cum-helpers regarding Hygiene, Safety and Nutrition a short film ‘POSHANA’ has been developed. Monitoring through IVRS Based daily monitoring system. “MAA Samuh” have also been created in all schools, under which a group of 6 mothers is formed and they regularly visit the schools according to their roaster and super wise the food being cooked and served to the students. 1,57,565 Schools are Provided with LPG Connections.

Pending Liabilities of previous years As per AWP&B 2017-18 Funds for Rs. 6344.30 Lac were required to clear the pending liabilities of previous year regarding Cost of Foodgrain, Transportation, MME and Cook-cum-helper. During FY 2017-18, Rs. 2795.53 Lacs has been released against Cost of Foodgrain by GoI. It is pertinent to mention that almost Rs. 20 Crore is still pending against FCI payment till 31.03.2018. It is required that remaining budget for Rs. 3548.77 Lacs be released to State to clear pending liabilities of previous years.

Demand Honorarium of Cook-cum-helpers needs to be enhanced from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 2000 per month. U.P. being the largest State, percentage of MME needs to be increased accordingly. As per decision taken by MHRD in its 8th AWP&B, that "Kitchen Devices sanctioned during 2006-07 and thereafter every five years from the date of their original sanction of procurement are eligible for replacement", the State is now eligible for replacement of Kitchen Devices in 85835 Schools.

Thanks
