The ancient Hebrews migrated to Egypt due to drought and famine. 1800 BC The ancient Hebrews migrated to Egypt due to drought and famine.

Moses led the Hebrews into the Sinai Peninsula where he heard the voice of God.

1025 BC The Hebrews formed the Kingdom of Israel,, located in Canaan, the crossroads between Egypt and Mesopotamia (The Land of Canaan).

930 BC Solomon died and soon foreign conquerors (from Babylon in Mesopotamia) take the Hebrews into exile. It was at this time that the first temple was destroyed and the Ark of the Covenant was lost.

Hebrews return to Israel and rebuild the temple. 500 BC Hebrews return to Israel and rebuild the temple.

70 AD The Romans (who then ruled Palestine) defeat revolting Jews and force Jews out of Palestine. The scattering of Jews is called Diaspora. (The second temple is destroyed)
