Historical Background Founded in Northern States in 1854, by anti slavery activists, modernizers… Preserving of the union, the end of slavery, equal rights to all men. Early republican ideology : “Free labor, free land, free men”. The name “Republican” was chosen, alluding to Thomas Jefferson’s Democratic-Republican Party and conveying a commitment to the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Party formally organized in Jackson, Michigan, in July 1854.

Party Stance on Abortion Unborn children have an individual fundamental right to life Support a human life amendment Oppose using public revenues for abortion and will NOT fund organizations that support it Support judges who respect conventional family values and the sanctity of innocent human life Help pregnant women and their babies OPPOSE This party don’t support abortion because they think: unborn children have right to life too. Elected official of MI Rick Snyder. He is a businessman, also the 48th governor of Michigan. He was considered as a possible candidate of vice president from the republican party in 2012. Although the Paul Ryan was selected.

Elected official of MI Brian Calley. He is the Lieutenant Governor of Michigan state, also the youngest Lieutenant governor in the country. He guided two tax reforms through the legislature and worked to create a business and citizen friendly government. He also premised to clear the baffle to individual potential.
