By Jarred Barker and Tyler Mintus THE TROPICAL RAINFOREST By Jarred Barker and Tyler Mintus Don’t forget: you aren't doing all of the work. Hey, these boxes are handy! I should write things in here more often.

Where is It on earth? Rainforests are located in Mexico, south America, Africa, and parts of southern Asia.

Plants that live in the rainforest The rainforest is home to all sorts of plants including flowers, carnivores such as a Venus flytrap, mushrooms, and one of the largest plants in the world, the Rafflesia arnoldii

These are just some plants that live in the rainforest These are just some plants that live in the rainforest. There hundreds among thousands of differing species of plants that make up the rainforest.

ADAPTIATIONS Plants in the rainforest have to adapt to things like poor soil conditions. Another thing is that most sunlight and rain does not reach the ground, so plants need to get food in other ways.

The tropical rainforest has many abiotic factors including rocks and water.

ANIMALS OF THE RAINFOREST There are many different animals in the rainforest reptiles= anaconda, camion crocodile, loggerhead turtle Amphibians= red-eyed tree frog, poison dart frog, northern glass frog, Surinam toad Mammals= African elephant, black howler monkey, proboscis monkey, capybara monkey, giant anteater Insects= leafcutter ant, tarantula, bird-eating spider, blue morpho butterfly, praying mantis Birds= African grey parrot, king vulture, oscillated turkey, scarlet macaw

ADAPTATIONS OF ANIMALS There are many animals in the rainforest, so food is scarce. Animals have adapted by eating one sole thing. Some birds survive by eating things other animals cant eat, like pinecone seeds.

THREATS TO THE BIOME The tropical rainforest does not have many threats, but the ones it does face are very severe. For example, people are cutting down the trees every day. This destroys homes for animals and food for organisms.

WEATHER REPORT!

AVERAGE RAINFALL The tropical rainforest can get anywhere from 50 to 260 inches of rain a year.

AVERAGE TEMPATURE IN THE TROPICAL RAINFOREST The temperature is usually 80 degrees or higher year-round.
