Where do I turn in/pick up assignments? INBOX- turn in all assignments OUTBOX- collect all graded assignments Save ALL papers (P.S. is unreliable)

What Do I Do Now?” -work on EverFi -read a book -assist Mrs. Lewis if she needs help with anything -do homework /study for a test/quiz -hand out OUTBOX papers -complete missing/make-up assignments *DOING NOTHING OR PUTTING YOUR HEAD DOWN & LISTENING TO MUSIC/WATCHING VIDEOS/ECT ARE NOT OPTIONS

Cell Phones You may ONLY charge your cell phone in class when you are using it for an assignment for Ms. Lewis. If Ms. Lewis finds your phone charging in class when it’s not supposed to be, she will ask you to unplug it and put your phone in the “Prison Cell” on her desk. If you have your phone when it’s not allowed… 1st offense- you will be asked to put your phone in the “Prison Cell” until the end of class. Failure to comply with this rule will equal a lunch detention/ect.. 2nd offense- your phone will be turned into the front office and your parent will have to come pick it up after school.

N.O.I.S.E. Three chances to keep the noise level in check when working in partners/groups Individuals can cause the loss of a letter When, “NO” is left on the board, everyone must return to their own individual seats and it will remain silent until everyone completes the assignment.

Tardy Policy Tardy = anytime both feet are not inside the classroom at the beginning, during, or after the bell. 1st Block ONLY: if you are tardy, you need to go and check into the attendance office first BEFORE coming to class.

If you choose to skip a lunch detention: Tardy Policy 1st Tardy: Verbal warning 2nd Tardy: Lunch detention 3rd or more Tardy: Referral If you choose to skip a lunch detention: automatic referral

Absenteeism and Late Work Policy -For every day you are AB, you get that many days to make up/turn in your assignments. Write, “NOT LATE” at the top of each assignment. -When AB, your work will be placed in the Hot Pink, “Missing Work Folder” located in the front of the room (you are responsible for collecting your assignments). -If you lose any assignment/ect, it is your responsibility to go to Ms. Lewis’s website and print off. ALL ASSIGNMENTS ARE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE! -If you are AB on a Friday, your Bell Work is ALWAYS due the following Monday or whichever is your first day back the following week.

Criteria For Re-testing Tests/Quizzes You have a MAXIMIM of TWO weeks from the date you were handed back the original scored test/quiz to complete the re-test test In order to be able to re-test a test/quiz, you must not have ANY outstanding assignments You may only re-test during tutorials and you need to let Mrs. L know in advance (a few days) which test/quiz you would like to re-take.

HSHS Grading Scale A = 100%-90% B = 89%-80% C = 79%-70% D = 69%-60% F = 59% and below

Benchmarks = 20% of your grade CTE Grading Scale Homework= 10% Class Work (Bell Work, projects, hdts, EverFi ,ect) = 45% of your grade Tests and quizzes = 45% of your grade Benchmarks = 20% of your grade

Tutorials 59% or less = assigned mandatory tutorials until you earn a 60% or higher Skip tutorials once = warning and assigned next tutorial session. Skip tutorials twice = referral Bring your lunch to tutorials (PLAN AHEAD) You must be on time or else you will have to stay longer in tutorials No friends allowed to come and “hang out” with you *Conflicting tutorials? YOU need to ask the other teacher to send me an email verifying your attendance by the end of THAT SAME DAY

May I Eat in Mrs. Lewis’s Classroom? NO FOOD/CANDY allowed in the classroom! Drinks MUST have a lid on them You may eat lunch in here during tutorials ONLY Do NOT stick gum under desks/chairs!

Your 4 “End of the Day” Responsibilities. 1.) Line up the desk with the tape mark and push in your chair. 2.) Put away all books, papers, supplies… 3.) Stay in seats and please do NOT line up by the door before the bell rings. “STAY IN THE “PINK!”

Alternative Assignment Definition: An “Alternative Assignment” is an additional assignment assigned when continually off-task/not following instructions and require additional redirection. 1.) Do all vocab words at beginning of the chapter 2.) Write out All questions AND answers at the end of the chapter *You are still responsible for all accumulating class assignments when completing the Alternative Assignment.

Restrooms If you need to use the restroom BEFORE class begins, please come to class, drop off your stuff, and ask Mrs. Lewis if you may go (5 min max). You will be marked tardy if you do not get permission first and then the bell rings. No one will be allowed to use the restrooms/get water/get tissues 10 minutes after class begins or 10 minutes before the class ends. If you are gone longer than five minutes, you will be considered skipping class (HSHS policy). You may only use the bathroom/get water/get tissues if you have your own individual bathroom pass. If you loose, damage, or forget your pass, you will not be allowed to go. If you use someone else’s pass, BOTH people loose their pass for the quarter.
